Nichrome (NiCr, nickel-chrome, chrome-nickel, etc) is the oldest form of resistance heating alloy. It’s one of the various alloys of nickel, chromium, and often iron or possibly other elements.


Classification: Nichrome alloy, as resistance wire, as heating elements, can be classified as nichrome resistance heating wire, resistance heating flat and resistance heating strip according to the section shape.




  • High strength and stability at high temperatures;
  • Not becoming brittle after long-term use and cooling down;
  • Resistance to oxidation: Most metals oxidize quickly and become brittle and break when heated in air. However, when heated to red-hot temperatures, nichrome wire, develops an outer layer of chromium oxide, which is thermodynamically stable in air, is mostly impervious to oxygen, and protects the heating element from further oxidation.
  • Non-magnetic;
