Molybdenum Disilicide Heater General Description:
Molybdenum Disilicide Heater is a kind of resistance heating element made from Molybdenum Disilicide. It can be exerted under the high temperature of the oxidated atmosphere. MoSi2 heating element rod has the unique function of high temperature anti-oxidation. Under the oxidated atmosphere, the maximum temperature of MoSi2 elements is 1800°C. It can be made into various types, including U-type, W-type, right-angle as well as circular type.
Molybdenum Disilicide Heater Character
Molybdenum Disilicide Heater is used in the high temperature under oxidizing atmosphere. It will form the SiO2 film which can keep the element from being melted. During the oxidizing process, the SiO2 protecting film is formed again when the element continues to be used. The MoSi2 heating element must not be used in the temperature between 400C and 700C for a long time, otherwise the element will be cremated under the strong oxidizing function in the low temperature.

Oxygen-resistance under high temperature: in oxidizing atmosphere, a layer of compact quartz protective film is formed on the surface of element owing to the high temperature combustion, which prevent Mosi2 from oxidizing more. When the element temperature is higher than 1700 °C, the film becomes melting. It’s not suitable for long time use in the temperature range of 400-700°C, otherwise, the element will be powdering for the strong oxidation under low temperature.
