Silicon Molybdenum and Silicon Carbon Rods Installation

Time:

Nov 20,2023

Silicon Molybdenum rods soften somewhat at high temperatures (above 1500 degrees) and harden and become brittle at low temperatures. In order to avoid stresses caused by temperature changes, it is beneficial for the parts to expand and contract thermally. Installation method.

Removal and replacement of lifting element parts is also easier, and instead of waiting for the furnace to cool down, they can be replaced hot.

The following must be observed when hanging the silicon molybdenum rods:

    1) The lining material is corundum bricks with a Fe2O3 mass fraction of less than 1%, because it interacts with the protective film to form a fusible silicate, which accelerates the destruction of the parts.

    2) Hot furnace gas leakage at the cold end not only increases the heat loss of the furnace, but even burns out the conductive tape chuck and lead clips. Therefore, ****** uses asbestos chucks.

    3) Since the silicon molybdenum rod is a brittle material with low bending strength, it cannot withstand impact. Protective measures should be taken to prevent its rupture during installation. When connecting the conductive tape, the asbestos chuck (or porcelain chuck) must be installed first, and the force when clamping should not be too large.

    4) Install the silicon molybdenum rod into the plug brick.

In order to avoid mechanical stresses caused by the loading and unloading movements, the plugging brick should be a separate brick made of foam corundum bricks. 5) Insert the plug brick with the silicon molybdenum rods into the prepared slit in the furnace roof. The plug brick should protrude beyond the furnace roof for easy removal.

    6) Attach the conductive tape to the prepared connection bracket, but avoid tension and unnatural twisting mechanical stresses on the tape.

    7) In order to prevent the asbestos chuck from sagging and distortion due to thermal expansion and contraction, the joints can be firmly fixed by applying water glass mixed with refractory clay. 8)When lifting, the tapered knot of the heating part should be about 25mm-3omm from the furnace wall, the cold end should be 75mm outside the top of the furnace, and the lower end of the heating part should not be less than 50mm to the bottom of the furnace.

    (9) The spacing of silicon molybdenum rods in the furnace should be not less than the center distance of the element itself.

    10) When lifting, pay attention to the gravity balance of the two cold ends and the wiring part, otherwise it will cause the heating part to bend and deform.
